Today Is Your Day! #SnowDayChallenge #ReadAcrossAmerica

What better way to celebrate Dr. Seuss' birthday than with a snow day! C'mon, you know what your challenge is! It's Read Across America day. Of course you're going to read. And if you're ready to move to bonus levels, check out your options below:

One of Dr. Seuss' most loved books was written on a bet. Can you name the title of the book and describe the wager? Hint: This book may inspire your breakfast this morning!

      • Find an online biography for Dr. Seuss (real name: Theodore Geisel). What other interesting facts can you learn about this author?

Watch the interview below with author John Green (The Fault in Our Stars).  There are several reasons he mentions why reading is so important. What is one reason he discusses that you had not thought of? How will that change how you read?

Using your favorite social media app (Facebook, Twitter, InstaGram, etc) create a six word story about why you like to read, or what reading means to you. Or get creative and write a six word story book review for your favorite book. Don't forget to use the official hashtag (#1phasd) and tag @PHSchools. Other suggested hashtags include: #ReadAcrossAmerica #MarchReadingMonth #sixwordstory #MichED

Make the most of your day off celebrating reading. And don't feel bad taking a reading break to have some fun outside!

Share out on social Media using hashtags #1phasd and #ReadAcrossAmerica
